ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday summoned the IGP for a contempt of court proceeding for arresting PTI leader Shireen Mazari despite its restraining order.

Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb heard the contempt of court plea as IGP Akbar Nasir failed to turn up.

The judge remarked that this was a case of contempt of court and expressed surprise that the IGP was absent. "He should have been here," he added.

The additional attorney general informed the court that the IGP was in the court of chief justice and would reach shortly. The court summoned the IGP in personal capacity on May 31 and directed him to submit a written reply till the next hearing.
