ECP starts to organise lists of ROs
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday geared up for holding simultaneous elections across the country.
The electoral watchdog had started compiling the lists of returning officers (ROs) for holding the elections simultaneously. In this regard, the ECP issued a letter to the four provincial election commissioners.
According to the letter, the ECP had sought the data of ROs, District Returning Officers (DROs), and Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) until June 1.

After identifying the polling staff, the electoral watchdog will start the training for conducting the elections.
Earlier today, the ECP took notice of the violation of the election code by the Sindh police after grade 18 and 19 police officers were transferred on May 18.
The ECP said senior police officers had been transferred in Sindh while the process of local government (LG) elections in the province was not completed yet. The ECP said these transfers were violations of election rules.
The electoral watchdog had asked the Sindh IGP to reverse the transfer orders of the police officers. The ECP also said, "No transfer orders can be issued after the election schedule is issued".
