New religious affairs minister, Saudi envoy discuss Hajj arrangements

Saudi ambassador briefed the Minister about expansion of Road to Makkah project to other cities.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Saudi ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al Malki called on newly-appointed Minister for Religious Affairs Senator Talha Mehmood in Islamabad today and congratulated him on assuming the charge of the Ministry.
The Saudi ambassador expressed the hope that Pak-Saudi relations would continue to thrive under the patronage of new Minister and a new era of cooperation will begin.
During the meeting, arrangements for Hajj, Road to Makkah project and other issues were discussed.
The Saudi ambassador briefed the Minister about expansion of Road to Makkah project to other cities to facilitate the Hajj pilgrims and said that a designated airport terminal under the project will be handed over to Saudi officials on 25th of this month.
The Saudi ambassador assured the Minister that the Saudi government will provide all possible cooperation to Pakistani pilgrims during Hajj.
The Minister vowed to continue the mission of his predecessor late Mufti Abdul Shakoor and providing best facilities to Pakistani Hajj pilgrims will be his first priority.
