Eight people suffered injuries due to landslide in Torkham

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Landslide in Torkham in Khyber District near Pak-Afghan border in the wee hours of Tuesday left two persons dead and buried at least 15 trucks and containers loaded with goods under the debris.

Several people suffered injuries due to the landslide, Dunya News reported. 

According to details, a fire broke out in some trucks after the landslide which was swiftly extinguished by the rescue teams. Three of the injured were shifted to hospital.





Rescue 1122 teams from Khyber, Peshawar, Nowshehra, Charsadda and Mardan were at the scene and taking part in the relief operation. The deputy commissioner Khyber supervised the relief operation.



According to the deputy commissioner, a team of district administration, police, Rescue 1122 and other departments took part in the rescue operation. He said heavy machinery from Peshawar and Nowshehra would reach soon to take part in the relief operation.
