Police operation in Katcha areas: many criminals killed, captured

The law enforcers carried out grand operation for the eighth successive day.
RAHIM YAR KHAN (Dunya News) – The Sindh and Punjab police said on Sunday that in a joint operation in Katcha areas, a number of robbers have been killed and arrested.
According to the spokesman of the Punjab Police, the law enforcers carried out grand operation for the eighth successive day and advancing with heavy weapons and armored vehicles.
He said the police have destroyed four more hideouts of robbers and militants and occupied them.
Exchange of fire with heavy weapons took place and police killed and arrested dozens of criminals.
A large number of smuggled heavy weapons and ammunition have also been recovered from the hideouts of the criminals, the spokesman added.
He said that the police entered Basti Kabul Lathani and destroyed hideouts Lathani gang. The police have captured Basti Ghani Lathani also.
The spokesman said that the police have cleared thousands of acres of area considered to be “no go area” from criminals and restored the writ of the state.
The police have set up camps in Karachi Bangali, Afzal Lathani and Noozband.
He said that the bandits have gone into hiding in the riverine forest of the peninsula, helpless due to the response of the police.
