PM Shehbaz sets up relief fund for quake-stricken Turks and Syrians
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday set up a relief fund for earthquake-stricken Turks and Syrians as the quake left at least 5000 people dead and scores of others injured and homeless.
Members of the federal cabinet would donate their one-month pay to the fund while civil servants of BPS18-22 would donate their one-day pay to the quake-stricken people. According to the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the death toll climbed to 3,381 people in Turkiye, and the death toll in Syria stands at more than 1,500 according to the Syrian government.
On the other hand, multiple organizations are heads-up to collect funds to ensure provision of humanitarian support to the quake-hit masses. Here’s the list of organizations in Pakistan that you could reach to support the victims.
ALKHIDMAT FOUNDATION
The Alkhidmat Foundation has been functioning since 1990. The organization provides relief to disaster-affected people in Pakistan and across the world. The country saw the organization working to support the masses hit by recent climate-induced floods. Now, the organization is collecting funds for the quake-stricken masses in Turkiye and Syria.
