Talal challenges PTI to secure majority for Punjab Assembly dissolution

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Talal Cahudhry said on Tuesday if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan wanted the Punjab Assembly dissolved, he must make arrangements to help Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi earn a vote of confidence in the assembly first.

Speaking at a press conference, he challenged the ruling alliance to secure the required number before moving on to the dissolution. “We stood tall in the face of martial law, so how can the demand of general election push us back?” he asked.

Taking a dig at Parvez Elahi, he said the chief minister did not stand by his cousin Chaudhry Shujaat, so how he could stand by Imran Khan. “The CM, along with his crown price son Moonis Elahi, has struck a deal worth Rs4 billion in just one housing society in Punjab and Imran Khan is aware of it,” he alleged. He said the former prime minister bought an Iphone at just 20pc of the actual price, robbed the Toshakahana by buying expensive gifts worth Rs6 billion for just a few thousands, and still he called himself sadiq and ameen – truthful and honest. “A man who failed to declare his daughter in nomination papers is asking for accountability of others,” he added.
