Toshakhana case: IHC admits plea for criminal proceedings against Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday admitted a plea seeking initiation of criminal proceedings against former prime minister Imran Khan in the Toshakhana reference.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal gave a three-page verdict in which he termed Mr Khan s declaration false as the court observed that the former prime minister had not declared state gifts in his returns. The judge further wrote that Mr Khan had not shared the details of money he earned by selling the gifts, making him liable to be proceeded under Article 174 of the Elections Act, 2017.

The court further ordered the PTI chief to appear before the court in personal capacity for trial on Jan 9.
