10 miners trapped as rainwater enters coal mine near Thatta

Sources said that the rescue operation has been delayed due to darkness.

THATTA (Dunya News) – At least 10 miners were trapped in a coal mine at Meting Railway Station near Jhimpir in District Thatta in Sindh province on Tuesday, Dunya News reported.

According to sources, Deputy Commissioner Thatta, Ghazanfar Ali Qadri reached Meting to supervise the rescue operation. Divers from Keenjhar Lake also reached the spot to provide assistance in rescue operation.

Sources said that heavy machinery and other equipment have also been arranged for the drainage of rainwater from the mine. However, the rescue operation has been delayed due to darkness.
