Kh Asif lambasts Canadian lawmaker for diatribe against Pakistan's institutions

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Defense Minister Khawaja Asif on Monday while lashing out at Canadian parliament members Tom Kmiec’s allegations against Pakistani instituion said that he respects the parliament of every country, and a strong reaction will come if our institutions are targeted.

Addressing the National Assembly, Khawaja said he has utmost respect for the Canadian Parliament, and Prime Minister because they have worked a lot for the betterment of the Muslim community in Canada but the Canadian government should have taken the notice of member’s criticism and allegation against COAS and Pakistan Army.

“I respect the parliament of every country but there will be a reaction when the head of our institution is targeted,” the Defense Minister said.

Khawaja Asif further said Muslims are being brutally tortured in India while in Kashmir also Indian army continuously killing the youth and millions of Rohingya Muslims were displaced. Why Tom Kmiec was silent on all these human rights violations. The west’s dual standard on these incidents is condemnable, he added.

Turning his aim at PTI chairman Imran Khan, he said that Imran Khan’s government was ousted through the constitutional way but he is spreading hatred among the people of Pakistan and Imran Khan is responsible for this incident.
