LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab has reported 50 more cases of omicron variant of coronavirus in last 24 hours.

According to details, the provincial capital reported highest number of cases in the province after 43 tested positive for the virus.

The total tally of cases of omicron has risen to 372 in the province.

On the other hand, World Health Organization warned Wednesday that the Omicron variant of Covid-19 is dangerous -- and especially so for those who have not been vaccinated against the disease.

The WHO said the global surge in cases was being driven by Omicron, which is more transmissible than the previously dominant Delta variant.

More than 15 million cases were reported to the WHO last week -- with millions more cases thought to have gone unrecorded.
