Low-lying areas inundated as heavy rain lashes Karachi, other parts of country
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Intermittent torrential rains have continued to hit parts of country with causing flooding in low-lying areas.
According to details, several areas in Karachi have been inundated with rain water while citizens are also facing problems due to electricity loadshedding.
Two people have also lost their lives while four sustained severe wounds in separate rain-related incidents in the metropolis.
On the other hand, the downpour has also lashed Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and other cities.
Meanwhile, coastal areas of the Balochistan province also received heavy rain.
As per Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan Army troops helped the city administration to hold the rescue operations in the province. Heavy rains on Monday and Tuesday caused urban flooding in low-lying areas of Gwadar and Turbat, the military media wing stated.
The ISPR statement further stated that food and shelter were provided in the rain-hit areas including Coastal Highway, Pasni, Surbandar, Nigore, and Jiwani.
