The LHC will take up the pleas against the new JIT on September 14.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday constituted a larger bench to hear pleas against formation of new Joint Investigation Team (JIT) of Model Town incident.

The LHC will take up the pleas against the new JIT on September 14.

A seven-member larger bench will be headed by Chief Justice LHC Justice Ameer Bhatti. Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed Khan, Justice Aalia Neelam, Justice Shehbaz Rizvi, Justice Sardar Ahmed Naeem, Justice Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh will be the other members of the bench.

The formation of the new JIT was challenged by Inspector Rizwan and others and argued that investigation of the Model Town incident has been completed and police has already submitted a challan in the court so now new JIT cannot be formed.

On this, the LHC had ordered the new JIT to stop the probe.
