Shibli terms transparent polls vital for strengthening democracy
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Minister for Science and Technology Syed Shibli Faraz has offered opposition parties to nominate a technical team to address their reservations regarding the use of Electronic Voting Machines in general elections 2023.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said transparent elections are imperative to strengthen parliament and democracy.
The Minister said government is firmly committed to use EVMs in next general elections. He urged the opposition political parties to set aside their personal interests and work for the coming generations.
Syed Shibli Faraz said parties of status quo are not willing to adopt technology in elections for their vested interests.
