PPP expresses reservations on foreign policy amid current Afghan situation

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) on Monday expressed reservations on foreign policy aid the current Afghanistan situation.

After the rapidly evolving situation in Afghanistan, the PPP convened a meeting of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) under the chair of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and co-chariman Asif Ali Zardari.

A meeting of PPP CEC was held at Bilawal House in Karachi. The meeting discussed the changing situation in Afghanistan and its future impact on Pakistan.

The meeting was attended by Faryal Talpur, Sherry Rehman, Nayyar Bukhari, Farhatullah Babar, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Qaim Ali Shah, Shazia Murree, Naveed Qamar, Rehman Malik and others.

The sources said that the PPP CEC expressed concerns over Afghanistan policy. The members said that the foreign policy of the federal government was not in the right direction. “Consultations were also held on the proposal to convene a joint session of the Parliament on the situation in Afghanistan,” it added.

Speaking to the journalists, Rehman Malik said that Pakistan has to protect itself.
