Pakistan attaches great importance to bilateral friendly and trade relations with Germany

ISLAMABAD (Dunya NEWS) – German Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Bernhard Stephen Schlagheck called on Pakistan Muslim League-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Monday.

MNA Chaudhry Salik Hussain and First Secretary Christian Boettcher were also present in the meeting. On this occasion, the current domestic and global political situation as well as other issues of mutual interest were alo discussed. They especially exchanged views on the rapidly changing situation in Afghanistan with detail during the meeting.

Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said that Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan, stressing that the Afghan situation should move towards peace. “Pakistan is in favor of a peaceful Afghanistan and we are reviewing the current situation in Afghanistan,” he added.

Continuing his speech, the minister said that Pakistan attaches great importance to bilateral friendly and trade relations with Germany. “The relations between Pakistan and Germany had always been friendly,” he added.

He also hoped that Germany will play its role for restoring peace in the region including resolution of Kashmir issue.

On the occasion, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that if there is peace in Afghanistan then there will be peace in the whole region including Pakistan. “The Pakistani government is strengthening its economy and providing best investment opportunities to other countries. German textile machinery has played an important role in the development of Pakistan s textile industry,” he maintained.

Meanwhile, the German ambassador said that Pakistan is key player and responsible country in the region and Germany is interested in enhancing trade and diplomatic relations with Pakistan.
