KJP to prove helpful to harness potential of youth in diverse sectors: President

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - President Dr Arif Alvi has said Kamyab Jawan program can play a pivotal role in promoting sports and talent hunting.

Addressing a ceremony in connection with International Youth Day in Islamabad on Thursday, he said Pakistani youth is full of potential and it can prove its talent if conducive environment is provided.

The President said unfortunately massive and unplanned development of cities has taken over all the play areas and grounds.

He expressed hope that Kamyab Jawan program will provide facilities to groom unnoticed talent in youth of the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood said role of educational institutions was important in promotion of sports but unfortunately it was neglected in past.

He said under Kamyab Jawan Program center of excellence will be established to train talented youth of the country.

The Minister stressed on the need of improving quality of education and fulfilling the requirements of 21st century.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Communication Murad Saeed said that Pakistan has 68 percent of youth population blessed with huge talent and this segment should get benefits of Kamyab Jawan Prgram. He said the government is striving to hunt it to utilize it for the development of the country.

He said that due to the prudent policies of the government, the nation is witnessing positive economic indications. He said the law and order situation of the country is also tourist-friendly and 2.7 million tourists visited Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir during two days of Eid-ul-Fitr and spent 66 billion rupees.

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib urged youth to play its role in innovation and transformation by taking benefits of Kamyab Jawan Program.

He said the government has allocated 100 billion rupees for business loans for youth out of which 19 billion rupees have so far been disbursed to 20,000 applicants.

He said that under this initiative, the government is producing job creators not job seekers.

Special Assistant on Youth Affairs Usman Dar in his remarks hoped that all universities will play an important role in empowering youth as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He said Kamyab Jawan program was designed with the consultations of the youth of country.

Earlier, the President inaugurated the HEC Sports and Co-Curricular Division under Kamyab Jawan Program.

An amount of 3369 million rupees will be spent on these programs.
