MPA Asad Khokhar's brother killed in firing during son's wedding ceremony in Lahore

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Suspect in murder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Asad Khokhar’s brother has confessed to killing him in “revenge”.

As per the initial statement of the suspect, Malik Mubashar, the lawmaker’s brother, was allegedly involved in the murder of his uncle.

Giving details, he told the police that he arrived at the valima ceremony at around 8:15am while carrying a pistol.

The suspect said that he came out of the marquee by walking behind the Punjab’s chief minister and opened fire on Malik Mubashar when the Punjab chief minister was sitting in his vehicle.

It merits mention that funeral prayer of Asad khokhar’s brother was also offered today.

A day earlier, a gunman opened fire at the wedding ceremony of Asad’s son, killing Mubashir Khokhar alias Malik Goga and injuring another.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar took notice of the incident directed the inspector general of police to submit a report.

A statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office said that Buzdar had ordered an inquiry into security arrangements for the wedding, directing that further action be taken against those found responsible for any lapses.

"Action should be taken against the arrested suspect in accordance with the law," the statement said.
