KP Assembly approves resolution against attack on temple in RYK

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The National Assembly on Friday has unanimously passed a resolution strongly denouncing the attack on a Hindu Temple in Bhong area of Rahim Yar Khan (RYK).

The resolution moved by Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has also condemned the incident and issued directions to bring the culprits to justice.

The resolution said that Islam and the constitution of Pakistan provide protection to the rights of non-Muslims. It said that this House also reaffirms the commitment to their protection.

On the other hand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly also approved a resolution against attack on Hindu temple in Rahim Yar Khan (RYK).

The resolution, tabled by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member Ravi Kumar, condemned vandalism at the temple and demanded strict action against the responsible people.


SC directs to arrest culprits involved in RYK temple attack


Supreme Court (SC) took up the case of vandalizing a Hindu temple in Rahim Yar Khan and expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of commissioner in this regard.

Hearing the case, the apex court directed the concerned authorities to immediately arrest the suspects involved in the attack and receive money for restoration of the temple from them.

The SC also ordered to take action against those who provoked the people to destroy the temple and form a village committee for establishment of peace in the area.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzar Ahmed remarked, “The incident has defamed Pakistan at international level. Not a single suspect has been taken into custody despite passage of three days.”

Additional attorney general told the court that Prime Minister Imran Khan has taken notice of the mishap.
