PIA declares COVID vaccine mandatory for cabin crew
Cabin crew must have to show NADRA certificate in case of vaccination
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has made the COVID vaccine mandatory for cabin crew due to spike of fourth wave of coronavirus.
The Flight Operations Unit has issued a notification in this regard. The notification stated that the duty of PIA cabin crew will be prohibited without vaccination certificate.
The notification also said that NADRA certificate must be shown in case of vaccination. According to the government guidelines, the cabin crew will not be deployed on domestic flights without vaccination certificates from August 1.
The statement also mentioned that in case of just one dose of Covid jab, it would be necessary to show the message issued from 1166.
The PIA administration further said that unnecessary movement of international flights’ cabin crew in terminal building will also be prohibited. It added that they will also be fined for violations by cabin crew of international flights. “The amount of fine for violation will be deducted from the salary and disciplinary action will be taken against them.”
