Nation holds rallies to observe Palestine Solidarity Day

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Palestine Solidarity Day is being observed today (Friday) across the country to express unity with the innocent people of Palestine facing the unabated aggression of Zionist forces in Gaza since last week of Ramazan.

The day is being observed on Prime Minister Imran Khan s appeal to support and express solidarity with the Palestinian people who are suffering from the ongoing Israeli attacks.

Protest rallies and demonstrations are being held across the country including AJK and Gilgit Baltistan keeping in view COVID-19 SOPs to convey the message that the entire Pakistani nation stands by their oppressed Palestinian brothers and sisters.





The protest rallies would also draw the attention of the world community towards grave human rights violations and barbaric attacks against innocent Palestinians by the Israeli forces. Pakistan has always supported the Palestinian cause.

In the wake of recent flagrant acts of violence in occupied Palestinian territories, Pakistan is at forefront to mobilize international efforts to stop Israeli persecution of Palestinian. There is also strong resentment within the public over the terrorism unleashed by the Jewish against the Palestinians.

In Lahore, the city district administration, with the collaboration of civil society, is organizing a rally in the provincial capital  to express solidarity with Palestinians.






According to spokesperson for city district administration, the main rally is being held at Liberty Chowk. Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan is leading the rally. 

Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has arranged a protest rally outside the Punjab Assembly against Israeli atrocities in Palestine.

Addressing the participants of the rally, PML-N member and opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz has condemned the indiscriminate attacks of Israeli forces on innocent people of Palestine. Indian occupied Kashmir and Palestine have become biggest jails of the world, he added.

A rally led by Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser and Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani has been taken out in Islamabad to express solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani said entire Pakistani nation stands by the Palestinian people in this hour of trial. He said the world community must play its role for the resolution of the lingering dispute.

Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser said Pakistan has a clear stance regarding Palestine. He said the country s political leadership is on the same page regarding this issue.

The government officials, doctors, engineers, journalists, artists, sports persons, women, lawyers, students, NGOs and people from all walks of life are also participating in the rallies to show solidarity with Palestinian brothers and sisters.
