CAA issues warning to private airline for bringing passengers on fake PCR test results

The CAA warned that any further violation shall entail more stringent penal action.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Monday has issued a warning letter to private airline for bringing passengers from Sharjah to Peshawar on fake negative coronavirus test results.

The notice stated that National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) has informed that the private airline has again found in violation of COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) implemented to curb the pandemic by bringing 27 passengers with coronavirus positive through Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) by the flight PA613 Sharjah-Peshawar on May 16.

The private airline, on May 10, 2021, also brought 24 COVID-19 positive cases scanned through RAT on flight PA611 Dubai-Peshawar. This negligence on part of the airline has not only endangered the lives of other passengers travelling on said flight in addition to the health care workers and airport staff but also negatively affected to curb the spread of the pandemic. Whereas, other airlines are following OCVID-19 protocols, the letter read.

The notice mentioned that foregoing in view, the competent authority has decided to take penal action against the airline under Civil Aviation Rules 1994 by cancelling/not providing the flight PA613 Sharjah-Peshawar on May 18, 2021.

The CAA also warned that any further violation shall entail more stringent penal action.
