Third round of talks between govt, banned TLP to start tonight: Fawad

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has said that the third round of talks between the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) and the Punjab government will be held tonight at 10 pm tonight.

In his tweet, he said that Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar and Law Minister Raja Basharat represented the government in the second round of talks with the banned TLP which ended in the evening.

The Minister said that the third round would be held at 10 pm with Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid and Religious Affairs Minister Noor-ul-Haq Qadri representing the government.

Earlier, Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Noor-ul-Haq Qadri spoke to the National Assembly session on Monday and expressed disappointment over the countrywide protest by banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) workers.

The minister said that the issue with the protesters will be resolved through negotiations as per the wish of the Parliament. No government deserves such kind of situation, he added.

Later, The Prime Minister addressed the nation and said that removing the French Ambassador will have no effect on France. In fact, it would be detrimental to Pakistan itself. He stressed that the collective voice of whole Muslim world and threat for trade boycott could put a stop to blasphemy as protest demonstrations would damage nothing but Pakistan’s booming economy.
