Money laundering case: Hamza Shahbaz's bail challenged in Supreme Court

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has challenged the bail of opposition leader Hamza Shehbaz in a money laundering case in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The petition filed by NAB in the Supreme Court has sought annulment of the February 24 decision of the Lahore High Court and cancellation of Hamza’s bail.

NAB states in its petition that the Lahore High Court ignored the facts. The case against Hamza Shahbaz Sharif is not a case of hardship and granting him bail is hampering the NAB inquiry.

NAB’s petition states that the bail of Hamza Shahbaz cannot be upheld in the eyes of the law.

It may be recalled that the Lahore High Court had granted bail to Hamza Shahbaz in a money laundering case. NAB has also filed bail cancellation pleas against other co-accused Fazal Dad and Mohammad Shoaib.
