Government does not want to impose a complete lockdown: Kamran

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Tuesday announced complete ban on weddings in the province and a two day closure of markets as well as public transport in a week to deal with third wave of coronavirus.

Addressing a press conference along with KP Health Minister Taimur Jhagra, SACM Kamran Bangash said that government has decided to close schools in the province while offices will operate on only 50 percent staff.

He further said that government has allowed respective ministers to further reduce the strength in their departments if needed. The CM’s aide urged people to wear face masks and warned that government will be forced to take tougher action if spread of the virus is not controlled.

On the occasion, Health Minister said that they do not want to shut businesses of the people and Prime Minister Imran Khan has also said that government is not in favor of complete lockdown.

He also asked people to follow coronavirus SOPs and said that every citizen has to play his role in this fight against the virus.
