Submission of nomination papers for Senate election starts today
The candidates can use option of withdrawing the candidature till February 22.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The submission of nomination papers for Senate election will start today (Friday), Dunya News reported. The candidates can also file nomination papers with the returning officer on Saturday.
According to details, the names of the nominated candidates will be published on February 14, followed by the scrutiny process from February 15 to February 16.
February 17 and February 18 have been given as the dates for filing appeals against the acceptance or rejection of the nominations. The appeals will be disposed of by the tribunal on February 19 and February 20.
On February 21, a revised list of candidates will be published with February 22 as the last date for withdrawing the candidature.
The polling time would be from 0900 hours to 1600 hours on March 3 while places of polling would be Parliament House, Islamabad for Federal Capital, Provincial Assembly building, Lahore for Punjab, provincial assembly building, Karachi for Sindh, provincial assembly building Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar for KP and provincial assembly building, Quetta for Balochistan.
