Vaccination of health professionals against covid continues across country

7,349 health workers have been administered the covid vaccine shots in Sindh.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The vaccination of the frontline health workers against coronavirus is Saturday ongoing across the country. 2,645 professionals have been administered the vaccine shots in Sindh on day three, taking the provincial tally to 7,349.

According to the Sindh Health Department, 619 doses have been administered at Khaliq Dina Hall, 233 at Jinnah Hospital, 190 at Dow Hospital, 158 at Qatar Hospital, 72 at Government Children Hospital, 72 at Liaquatabad Hospital, 97 at New Karachi Hospital, 262 at Sindh Government Hospital Korangi, 458 in Malir District, 115 in Jamshoro and 415 in Shaheed Benazirabad.

The covid-19 vaccination is also ongoing in Punjab as the process has begun at Lahore’s Children Hospital, General Hospital and Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) after Mayo, Jinnah and Services Hospitals.

Children Hospital Dean Professor Masood Sadiq inaugurated the campaign by receiving the dose himself. 4,000 health professionals will receive shots at Children Hospital, 6,000 at General Hospital and 3,000 at PIC.

On the other hand, Pakistan has reported 28 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 553,128. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 11,914.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 1,286 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.

Till now 250,043 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 160,162 in Punjab 68,180 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 41,819 in Islamabad, 18,849 in Balochistan, 9,160 in Azad Kashmir and 4,915 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore 4,854 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,066 in Sindh, 1,948 in KP, 478 in Islamabad, 270 in Azad Kashmir, 196 in Balochistan, and 102 in GB.

Pakistan has so far conducted 8,155,766 coronavirus tests and 33,319 in the last 24 hours. 508,700 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 1,908 patients are in critical condition.
