Kashmala Tariq's son granted interim bail in accident case
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Ombudswoman for Anti-Harassment Kashmala Tariq s son has been granted interim pre-arrest bail in accident case.
Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Sohail granted interim bail to Azlan, son of Kashmala Tariq. The court restrained police from arresting Azlan Khan until February 16.
Azlan Khan, the accused named in the accident, was granted interim bail against surety bonds of Rs 50,000.
Earlier Federal Ombudswoman for Anti-Harassment Kashmala Tariq, while reacting to last night’s accident in Islamabad, said that the allegations against her husband and son are baseless.
She was addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday, saying that the law must make its course but the media should not level baseless allegations against us. She clarified that her family was travelling with just two vehicles, not a motorcade.
They were coming from Lahore in two cars, one having her and her husband while her son and a police guard were in the other vehicle.
"We crossed the toll plaza around 10:30 last night," she said.
“Suddenly, there was a harsh impact and we fell towards the front seats”, she added.
Expressing grief over the accident, Kashmala Tariq said that four precious lives were lost that night and she prayed a lot for them.
“We are facing a very strange situation, we too could have been killed in the accident”, Kashmala said.
The federal ombudswoman said that no one plans such accidents and neither can one be prepared for it. She also called the deaths of the four youths and the resulting suffering for their families a tragedy.
"I have no words to express my condolences to their mothers," she said.
However, she complained of being subjected to a media trial and urged the Prime Minister to review the footage from FWO and take action based on facts.
