Coronavirus pandemic is not over: Punjab Health Minister

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid on Monday said that 189 health vaccination centers have been established across the province.

Yasmin Rashid, while talking to media persons, said that nationwide vaccination drive will begin from Wednesday and 17 million more jabs will soon arrive in the country.

The Health Minsiter said that the coronavirus vaccine will be administered to frontline health workers in phase one.

She said that this will be followed by vaccination for the elderly over 65 years of age. Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that one hundred and eighty nine vaccination centers have been established in Punjab for this purpose.

The provincial health minister emphasized that coronavirus pandemic is not over and people need to strictly follow coronavirus related standard operating procedures (SOPs) to keep the virus under control.

On the other hand, a special Pakistan Air Force (PAF) plane with the 500,000 Covid-19 vaccine doses reached Islamabad today.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), all necessary measures have been put in place for the vaccine storage in Islamabad and its onward transportation to other parts of the country.

The Sindh government has decided to establish coronavirus vaccination centers in six districts in Karachi.

According to details, 15 health workers will be able to receive coronavirus vaccine at the same time. All the arrangements in this regard have also been completed.
