Favorable environment is required to attract investments in country: Chairman NAB

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has rejected accusations of personal revenge or political engineering by NAB and challenged that he would step down if it was proven that even a single businessman left the country due to pressure by the anti-graft watchdog.

Addressing businessmen, Chairman NAB said that he never interfered in any department unnecessarily as the anti-graft watchdog believes in transparent accountability process.

He said that Pakistan is in debt of billions of rupees and the bureau has submitted billions in the national exchequer. He further said that a strong economy is a must for a powerful country and vowed to solve problems of businessmen at the earliest.

The chairman further said that investors provide jobs to thousands of people and claimed that NAB has never asked source of investment from traders.

He further said that a favorable environment is required to attract investments but NAB cannot ignore ill-gotten money. Sacrifices of security forces restored law and order in the country.
