PSP holds rally in Karachi to express concerns over census results

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) is all set to hold protesting rally in Karachi today (Sunday) to express concerns over the results of population census 2017.
According to details, the workers and leaders of PSP will carry out march from Nursery Shahra-e-Faisal to Press Club.
Party sources told that PSP chairman Mustafa Kamal and other members will also address the participants of the rally.
Earlier, PSP chief said that Karachi’s population was not mentioned in the census as per facts. The government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should change the results, he urged.
MQM, PTI agree to hold new census across country
Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had agreed on the decision to conduct a new census across the country.
A committee was formed under the chairmanship of Amin Ul Haque.
A PTI delegation led by Sindh Governor Imran Ismail arrived at the MQM headquarters in Bahadurabad and met Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, convener of (MQM and members of the coordination committee.
It is to be mentioned here that sixth population census began in March 2017 after a delay of almost 19 years and concluded in May 2017. This census of 2017 also included the counting of transgenders and Afghan refugees.
As per provisional results of much-delayed sixth population census, Pakistan amassed a population of 210.90 million, thus registering an increase of over 70 million since 1998.
