Machh tragedy: PM assures to fulfill all demands of Hazara protesters

QUETTA (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Imran Khan, while assuring the families of Machh tragedy victims in Quetta, said that all demands put forth by the Hazara community will be fulfilled.

In his meeting with the families of the victims, the Prime Minister said that his government will stand with the victims of this tragedy. “This is not the first such incident with the Hazara community, you have suffered major tragedies and lost many lives”, he added.

“The whole nation stands with the Hazara community, my government and the provincial government stand with you”, said the PM.

He said the attack on the Hazara community was regrettable, and that he was saddened by the community’s oppression. He assured that every possible step was being taken for the security of the Hazara community.

“India wants to incite sectarian violence in Pakistan”, the Premier said. He also announced that a security forces cell was being formed to ensure complete protection of the Hazaras.

He said that India is involved in terrorism in Balochistan by backing terrorist groups and some have joined together to form an alliance. Indian-backed terrorists have done a lot of damage to Pakistan and he had warned about India’s intention to fan sectarian conflicts in Pakistan; the assassination of Maulana Adil was also a means to this end.

The PM appreciated the security agencies for doing their best to prevent such a conflict, saying that they played their role in thwarting Indian attempts to destabilize Pakistan.

The Prime Minister had arrived at Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University to meet families of coal miners slain by terrorists in Balochistan’s Machh on last Sunday (January 3).

PM Imran Khan also met Governor and Chief Minister Balochistan and chaired a meeting at CM Secretariat to review law and order situation of the province.

On the other hand, the funeral prayers for the slain coal miners have been offered in Quetta.

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi, SAPM on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari, Balochistan’s provincial ministers Zia Lango, Saleem Khosa and Mobeen Khilji offered the prayers along with a large number of people.
