Violators of Covid SOPs will be punished: Firdous Ashiq Awan
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab Firdous Ashiq Awan, while informing about the decision of the government, has said that the Coronavirus SOPs set by the government will be implemented under all circumstances and all violators will be punished.
"We are currently going a corona emergency," she told a news conference in Lahore on Monday. Implementation of SOPs in offices, markets, restaurants and public places will be ensured and areas with more cases will be put on smart micro-lockdown. The proposal of imposing penalties for violating the SOPs will be put before the NCOC, she added.
She said that on the one hand, the government is taking steps to prevent the spread of the virus but on the other, a group of unemployed politicians are putting people’s lives in danger. She warned the opposition that they are destined to fail in the city of Lahore.
The Special Assistant criticized the opposition, saying that PDM’s hollow movement died in Multan and will be laid to rest in Lahore.
Dr Firdous also took aim at Maryam Nawaz and said that she had come out to demand the resignation of the Prime Minister, but is on her way to see the whole opposition resign. Maulana Fazlur Rehman had announced in Multan that he would launch rallies every Friday but the public firmly rejected his call.
