Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood praised by students for school closure announcement
(Web Desk) - Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood is receiving immense praise from students on social media for deciding to keep educational institutions, including schools, colleges and universities, closed till January 11.
Many Twitter users were over the moon on hearing the announcement and appreciated the Minister for his "Shafqat" on students. A video clip of some students celebrating the decision by chanting slogans in his favour quickly went viral.

Earlier in the day, Shafqat Mahmood announced during a press conference that all ministers had mutually decided to keep all educational institutions closed. He said that online classes would continue till December 24 after which winter break will start. "Schools will reopen on January 11, 2021", he said.
He said that examinations scheduled to take place in December will be postponed, with the exception of a few professional exams.
