LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Inam Ghani Saturday declared different news on media and social media regarding arrest of rapists in the motorway case as fake and contrary to facts.

Inam Ghani said no culprit has been arrested as yet. I am monitoring the investigations myself and will share news if any success is achieved, the IG remarked.

“Such unverified news not only affect the interrogations but also mislead people. The pictures of the victim and the criminals making rounds on social media are also fake. Media should act responsibly and not share any news without verification. People should trust us. We will arrest the culprits.”

Further development has been made in the case as police arrested ten suspects involved in serious crimes while conducting operation near Karol village and shifted them to unknown place for investigation.

DNA tests of the suspects will be conducted. SSP Investigation Zeeshan Asghar told that it will take at least five days to obtain the test results. The authorities have collected samples of 53 suspects so far.

Police will submit the initial report to Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar today. The CM has also summoned the investigation team for briefing.
