Bilawal demands postponement of National Assembly session

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has demanded that in view of the situation after the recent monsoon rains across the country, the next session of National Assembly should be postponed.

According to a statement issued by the Pakistan People’s Party, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the members of the National Assembly are engaged in their respective constituencies serving the rain-affected people, and those are the ones that need their elected officials the most.

He further said that National Assembly member Raja Pervez Ashraf has also requested the Speaker Assembly to postpone the meeting on account of the worrying situation created in different parts of the country.

The PPP chairman said that PPP is not against any legislation that forwards the national interest but in the current situation, the aim of all political parties in the government and the opposition should be to reach out and help the rain victims.
