Ravi riverfront urban development project to officially launch on 15 September
LAHORE (Dunya News) – It was decided Tuesday that the foundation stone of Ravi riverfront urban development project will be officially laid on September 15 and Prime Minister Imran Khan will be the chief guest at the ceremony.
According to details, a review meeting on the progress of Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project was held under the chairmanship of the PM in which Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, Advisor to Prime Minister Barrister Shahzad Akbar, Special Assistant Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari, Provincial Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan, Chairman New Pakistan Housing Authority Lieutenant General (retd) Anwar Ali Haider, Chairman Ravi River Front Urban Development Project Rashid Aziz and senior government officials were present.
The Project Chairman gave a detailed briefing on the timelines of the project, deep interest of foreign investment companies in the project and regulation regarding infrastructure and organizational matters.
PM Imran Khan stressed the need to ensure high international standards of construction, protection of environment and providing permanent solution to water scarcity and pollution in Lahore with the completion of the project. Thanks to the efforts of the government, the construction sector has shown encouraging growth, he added.
Appreciating the interest of foreign investment companies in the project, the Prime Minister said that the project would be a masterpiece for Lahore residents and overseas Pakistanis.
Imran Khan directed monitoring of the project on a daily basis and immediate removal of any administrative hurdles in its completion, saying that he should be kept informed about the progress of the project.
