9 killed in rain-related incidents in Balochistan

Deaths caused by rain were reported from Dera Bugti, Jaffarabad, Kohlu, Jhal Magsi and Khuzdar.

QUETTA (Dunya News) – At least nine persons, including a child and two women, were killed in various rain-related incidents in different cities of Balochistan, Dunya News reported on Sunday.

According to Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), deaths in rain-related incidents were reported from Dera Bugti, Jaffarabad, Kohlu, Jhal Magsi and Khuzdar.

The PDMA sources also informed that 136 houses in Jhal Magsi and five houses in Khuzdar were damaged due to recent rains. Two bridges in Gwadar and Bolan and one link road in Jhal Magsi were also damaged.

On the other hand, Gwadar-Karachi Coastal Highway has been repaired and restored for all kind of traffic while flood situation is still prevailing in Jhal Magsi. Meanwhile, restoration work of Sibi-Quetta Road and Bibi Nani Bridge is underway.
