Heaps of garbage are being shifted to landfill site from nullahs with the help of FWO machineries

KARACHI (Dunya News) – On the second day of cleanliness drive in Karachi that was launched following the directives of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Tuesday has cleaned nullahs in five areas of the metropolis.

According to details, heaps of garbage are being shifted to landfill site from nullahs with the help of machineries provided by the Frontier Works Organization (FWO).



Authorities told that in the first phase, nullahs in North Nazimabad will be cleaned. The army will continue to provide immediate relief to the locals.

On the other hand, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted new spell of monsoon rain in Karachi on Friday and Saturday.

Heavy downpour may generate urban flooding in Karachi and Hyderabad and flash flooding in hill torrents of Khuzdar on Friday and Saturday.
