Govt to table FATF bill in parliament sans opposition consensus

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The federal government has decided to table the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) bill in the parliament without consensus of the opposition after a deadlock arose over changes in NAB laws.

In this regard, a statement has been issued by Federal Law Minister Farogh Naseem, saying that there is a deadlock between the government and the opposition over proposed changes in NAB laws. He said the government cannot allow the modifications and conditions proposed by the opposition.

Farogh Naseem said that the opposition wants to link FATF bill with changes it has proposed in NAB laws, including no action against cases before 2015 as well as those between 1985 and 1999.
