CPEC will begin new era of economic progress: Asim Bajwa

Asim Bajwa addressed a ceremony held in relation to signing of contracts with six Chinese companies.

TAXILA (Dunya News) – Chairman China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority Lt. General (retired) Asim Saleem Bajwa has on Thursday said that CPEC will start a new era of economic progress in Pakistan.

Asim Saleem Bajwa addressed a ceremony held in relation to signing of contracts with six Chinese companies and said new investment is being made in the Heavy Mechanical Complex (HMC) which will boost industry and the projects will provide progress opportunities to Pakistanis.

“New railway tracks will be built under CPEC-II and a Dry Port will be constructed in Havelian. All railway tacks will be replaced and the steps will make the Pakistan Railways a profitable organization.

“China is interested to invest in Pakistan and both countries will get benefit through it. CPEC reflects fraternal relationship between Pakistan and China.

“Special economic zones (SEZs) will be formed in provinces under the CPEC projects to provide growth to economy and create employments. Agricultural machinery, which Pakistan imports, will be made in the country.

“CPEC is turning into a reality. Eight energy projects are completed and Pakistan will depend less on loans after these measures. Railway infrastructure will be developed in second phase of CPEC.”
