Law will take its course in case against Shehbaz Sharif, says Shahbaz Gill.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – After Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif was granted interim bail till June 17 by the Lahore High Court in the money laundering and assets beyond means cases, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Communication Dr Shahbaz Gill Wednesday said the law will take its course.

The SAPM said in his statement that June 17 is not far either and the opposition leader will soon find himself in grip of law due to the corruption he committed. He said, “Sharif family is getting away from accountability since Pervez Musharraf’s tenure. The family escapes abroad by faking illness but its end has come.”

“Police arrest commoners only but law must be equal for the rich and the poor. Those institutions which are afraid of Sharif brothers should deal them in a similar manner the way they treat other culprits.”

Let it be known that the LHC today barred the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from arresting the PML-N leader. During the proceedings conducted by two-member bench, Shehbaz Sharif’s lawyer Pervez Amjad said that his client attended the court hearing despite being cancer patient.

Subsequently, the court directed the PML-N president to submitted bail bond worth Rs0.5 million and approved his bail plea. Officials of the NAB were also present in the LHC to arrest the opposition leader in case of bail rejection. PML-N activists and leaders had also gathered outside the court.
