KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh Government has challenged Sindh High Court’s verdict in Daniel Pearl murder case in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The appeal seeks to reinstate the sentences given to the accused by trial court.

According to details, the provincial government has challenged the High court verdict asking for it to be declared null and void and for the death sentence awarded to the primary accused, Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, to be reinstated.

The Sindh Government’s plea also asks for the life sentences awarded to Fahad Nasim Ahmed, Syed Salman Saqib and Sheikh Muhammad Adil by the trial court to be reinstated. The plea was filed by Prosecutor General Sindh in the Supreme Court.
