Opposition parties should support the government in projects that work towards public interest

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Acting Governor Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has asked opposition parties to support the government in projects that work towards public interest.

According to details, the acting Governor met Law Minister Raja Basharat at Governor House and discussed legislative matters of Punjab Assembly. The two leaders also discussed proposed legislation in scheduled session of Punjab assembly on 9th march and various other matters.

Speaking on this occasion, Pervaiz Elahi said that the government has taken steps which have resulted in the prices of daily use items coming down. Both federal and Punjab governments would take any step necessary to provide relief to the people, he added.

He also condemned the ongoing persecution of Muslims in India and Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK) and termed the reaction of Iran and other countries criticizing the Indian government’s oppression as critical. He appealed to the International community to play its part in stopping the communal violence against Indian muslims and prevent Modi from repeating the events of Gujarat in New Delhi.

During the meeting, both leaders also discussed the matter of Orange Line fare. Raja Basharat said that the opinions of all parties shall be given full consideration while deciding Orange line fare.
