Court approves NAB's request to seize Zardari's Clifton property

KARACHI (Dunya News) – An accountability court has approved a request by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to allow the government take possession of former president Asif Ali Zardari’s property located at Clifton in Karachi.

Sources familiar with the matter told the media that the NAB had filed a confirmation request to seize the immovable asset of Zardari, and in this regard, investigating officer Ahmed Saeed Wazir appeared in the court.

According to the NAB prosecutor, the amount for purchasing the house was transacted through a joint account and the house was bought in April, 2014.

The NAB prosecutor further told the court that the house was bought with money obtained through corruption.

The court also directed to provide a copy of the order to seize the house to the accused person.
