Attorney general said that he will not tolerate anyone's interference in his matters.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Newly-appointed Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) Khalid Jawed Khan on Wednesday said he had already told Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan that he will not take the case of Justice Qazi Faez Isa.

In a statement, the attorney general said that he will not tolerate anyone’s interference in his matters. Won’t take directives from anyone except relevant departments, he added.

Earlier, Barrister Khalid Javed Khan, had excused himself from proceedings of Justice Qazi Faez Isa case by justifying before the Supreme Court that there “is a conflict of interest.”

“I can’t appear in this case on the government’s behalf […] I request the court to approve my request as there’s a conflict of interest,” he said, adding that Additional Attorney General Mr Rehman was already prepared to proceed with the case.

Importantly, the government had decided to hire services of a “private” lawyer for the same case, and was considering various names, sources privy to the matter told the media.
