Two airliners escape tragic accident in Pakistan

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Two airliners fortunately escaped a horrendous accident on Saturday in Pakistani territory meanwhile air traffic controller was suspended from the service.

Sources privy to Dunya News informed that the negligence of the air traffic controller would have resulted in a major accident. However, the pilots of the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) and Emirates showed their expertise and escaped the tragic event.

According to details, the national airline was flying from the federal capital, Islamabad, to Karachi whereas the Emirates flight was flying over Nawab Shah from the Delhi-region of India. PIA aircraft was flying at an altitude of about 35,000 feet while the international plane was at the altitude of 40,000 feet. The distance between both aircrafts was less than five miles. The PIA pilot steadily lowered the plane while Emirates captain raised the aircraft to avoid the accident.

Civil Aviation took notice of the incident and suspended the ATC immediately along with other three officials. An investigation has been launched in the matter.
