Asad Qaiser meets Turkish President, discusses various issues including Kashmir
NA Speaker discussed challenges and issues of mutual interest in the meeting with Turkish President.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul today.
It is pertinent to mention that that Turkish President hosted delegates attending the third Conference of Speakers of the Parliament on the elimination of terrorism in Istanbul and strengthening regional ties.
According to Dunya News, the two leaders met at the conference in Istanbul. During the meeting, the situation of occupied Kashmir after the abrogation of special status of occupied Kashmir was also discussed.
According to sources, the challenges and issues of mutual interest were also discussed in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser said that Pakistan and Turkey are two united and friendly nations, and both of the countries are bound in an ever-expanding relationship of religion, brotherhood, history and culture. “Proudly, the two countries have always stood side by side with each other during difficult times”, he added.
It should be remembered that Prime Minister Imran Khan telephoned Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on October 11 and endorsed his stance on terrorism.
PM Imran Khan said that Pakistan has lost 70,000 lives due to terrorism and endured the burden of millions of refugees for decades, therefore strongly supports Turkey’s stance on terrorism. “Pakistan is fully cognizant of the threats and challenges being faced by Turkey having lost 40,000 of its people to terrorism", he said.
"We pray that Turkey’s efforts for enhanced security, regional stability and peaceful resolution of the Syrian situation are fully successful," Khan was quoted as saying.
It should be noted that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Pakistan on October 24, it will be a two-day visit. He was invited by PM Imran Khan to visit, which he accepted.
