President Arif Alvi to address joint session of parliament on Thursday at 05:00 PM.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A joint session of Parliament will be held on Thursday (today) at 05:00 PM at Parliament House in Islamabad to mark the advent of new parliamentary year.

President Dr. Arif Alvi will address the joint sitting and apprise the session on government’s performance in first year. The president will also brief the attendees on targets for current parliamentary year.

Pakistan’s situation, relations with regional countries, Indian actions and its ongoing atrocities in occupied Kashmir will be part of president’s address.

Invitations to significant personalities – including chief ministers and governors of all four provinces, chiefs of all three armed forces including Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Azad Jammu and Kashmir prime minister and president, Gilgit-Baltistan chief minister and governor and international ambassadors – have been sent.

The joint session of parliament will be held amidst beefed up security in Red Zone, and only those persons with invitation cards will be allowed to attend the session.
