Doctors examine Zardari's health in NAB's office, find low blood sugar level

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Under detention of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), former president Asif Ali Zardari’s medical examination has been conducted by a team of physicians.

According to reports, his blood pressure and heart rate were normal; however his blood sugar level was low. A medical board will reexamine him in the evening today.

Three days ago, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had rejected bail applications of the former president, and subsequently a team of the NAB Rawalpindi had arrested him.

He has been remanded to the NAB’s custody for 10 days for investigation into the ongoing money laundering and fake banks accounts cases against him and his sibling Faryal Talpur.

The former president was on interim bail for two months and twelve days, and since March 28, and got extended his bail five times.

The NAB has been conducting investigations in pursuance of the Supreme Court’s verdict in the money laundering of billions through fake accounts case wherein it forwarded the joint investigation team (JIT) report with directions to investigate and file references.

Earlier, the case was being heard in a banking court in Karachi but had been shifted to an accountability court in Islamabad upon an appeal by the NAB.
